One-page topic proposal:
In paragraph 1, introduce the topic. Frame the argument, and briefly describe the two basic opposing viewpoints on the issue. End this item by presenting the issue in question form. For example: Should sources on social media be monitored to prevent fake news? Should masks be mandated nationwide? Should hospitals require all who are employed to be immunized? You can use the question from SIRS; in fact, it is easier for you if you do. In paragraph 2, explain why the issue is compelling or interesting. In paragraph 3, clearly state which position you plan to take on the issue in your paper. This position may change as you conduct research on your topic. If you are not sure which side of the issue you support yet, just state this and briefly explain why you have not decided yet.
