Production and presentation of the dissertation: The dissertation must be typed, double-spaced on A4 paper on one side only, with a 2.5-3cm margin on each side of each page. The main text font must be no smaller than 11 points, notes no smaller than 10 points.
Title page: The title of your dissertation must be typed on a separate sheet of paper, at the foot of which you should also type the following:
Submitted by (your name and candidate number) in partial requirement for the degree of MA (name of your programme), University name.
Other Material: You must include a Table of Contents that should list the titles of chapters including chapter headings, the Reference List (only works you cite or refer to), any appendices, tables of data and illustrations.
Pagination: Each new chapter must start on a new page (chapter sections do not need a new page). This also applies to all other main parts of the final dissertation; i.e. Acknowledgments, Abstract, then your Reference List, Appendices, other material
Word Count: The maximum word count for most MA programmes is 13,000-15,000 words including notes but excluding your reference list and appendices.
Appendices are not obligatory but if used they do not count towards the final mark so if information there is important ensure that it is part of the main text.
Audio-visual material: If you need to submit audio-visual material alongside your dissertation, ie. films or audio recordings saved on CDs, flash drives, memory sticks, etc,
