Paramedics must be able to demonstrate professional skills, attributes, and application of knowledge to meet requirements for registration, and demonstrate their professional capabilities. The Professional capabilities for registered paramedics (https://www.paramedicineboard.gov.au/Professional-standards/Professional-capabilities-for-registered-paramedics.aspx) (AHPRA, 2021) sets out FIVE (5) domains that identify the knowledge, skills and professional attributes needed for safe and competent paramedic practice in Australia. This assessment focuses on THREE (3) domains.
You have been directed to provide a written professional practice report as an expert witness for a complaint under investigation by the Paramedicine Board of Australia. Select ONE (1) of the cases in the Assessment tab on the Brightspace site and apply the domains listed below to the case:
• Domain 1: Professional and ethical conduct;
• Domain 3: Evidence-based practice and professional learning;
• Domain 4: Safety, risk management and quality assurance.
As part of your report, you should include recommendations for addressing any identified deficits in knowledge, application of skills or systemic failures.
You are encouraged to investigate Ambulance Services Clinical Practice Guidelines from multiple jurisdictions when preparing your responses. In addition to Ambulance Servi
ce Clinical Practice Guideline documents, you must reference at least one other credible source to support your claims.
